Canon Imagerunner C2880 – Color Laser Copy Machine
Professional grade, upright copy machines, such as the Canon imageRunner C2880, are designed to not only produce an extremely high volume of media output, but also offer options and solutions not found in mid or low end units. The C2880 offers not only speed and power, but extensive, comprehensive features as well, allowing you to fine tune your output in ways other models can’t.
With a huge 80 GB hard disk and a gigabyte of RAM, memory comes in abundance with the Canon imageRunner C2880. This allows for the latest in copy execution technology, such as new generation image processing which allows multiple users to simultaneously copy, print, scan, send, and fax.Image quality optimization technology is powered by an Enhanced resolution system which accelerates the rasterization of 1200 dot per inch print data so, even at high quality, your high print speed will not suffer.
Print speeds of 28 pages per minute for black and white and 26 pages per minute in color mean your documents and images will not only come out looking crisp, they will be delivered quickly. A warm up time of 38 seconds is fairly decent considering the size of the unit and, after warm up, first copy time is a mere 5.9 seconds for monochrome, and 8.9 seconds for color.
Networking is a must for a unit of this caliber, and the Canon imageRunner C2880 comes equipped with a 10/100Base-TX (RJ-45) network card built in. Wireless networking can be achieved via additional hardware add ons which can be particularly helpful in office environments where laptops and mobile devices are in use.
Scan resolution and copy resolution are both limited, at 600 x 600 dots per inch each, yet the print engine is fantastic, boasting a rarely seen full 1200 x 1200 dot per inch resolution. Paper handling is also fairly decent, with dual 550 sheet paper cassettes coming stock with the unit, and an optional, additional set of 550 sheet trays, along with a massive 2,700 sheet paper deck that brings the potential total paper storage amount to 4,950 sheets.
Additional accessories available include a remote operator’s software kit, an ADF access handle, and, for users who have lost the ability to see, a Braille label kit is available, as well as a voice operation kit for users without the use of their hands or feet.
The Canon imageRUNNER C2880 has an optional hardware upgrade in the form of an internal finisher that can drastically increase performance. It can hole punch, print envelopes, automatically staple and even saddle stitch brochures and small publications. Adding professional touches like these can greatly increase the aesthetic appeal of your workload, and with almost no user downtime thanks to full automation.
A standard copy display helps users access hundreds of fine tunable commands, and Canon has also included an additional access point: an express copy menu which allows quick access to basic features, so even novice users can utilize the power of the machine.
