Is the HP CM1415FN Cost Effective?
Finding a printer may not be so difficult at first because there are some brands that really stick out in the current market, Hewlett Packard being one particularly good example. HP printers usually do not disappoint when it comes to quality and they come in a diverse range, going from basic economy to the most technologically advanced business models.
When it comes to achieving maximum savings, getting a multifunction printer is a good choice because the printers operate fast to save time, which is crucial in maintaining a business. With multiple devices integrated into one you get all the benefit of their individual functionality without any of the wasted space.
The HP CM1415FN is one HP's newer offerings, attempting to replace some of the aging models in the range. But older multifunction printers come out cheaper, so the real concern is whether the HP CM1415FN is cost effective enough to make the 260 pound price worth the purchase. Here are some of the things that you can expect from this business printer.
HP puts an emphasis on cost effectiveness by redefining the way users interact with printers. The full-colour 89mm display highlights one of the unique aspects of the printer and makes it easier to carry out common tasks. A single icon is placed on each corner serving as the primary navigation system while all of the other elements and functions can be manipulated via touch. Users can initiate copy operations without accessing a computer. It also has a USB port so other operations such as printing and faxing can be carried out on any items in a connected USB drive.
In order for the printer to serve its role in the business, an Ethernet port is supplied so it can be hooked up to the network router. This is nothing new in printers of this age, but the ePrint function serves as an interesting way to get documents printed. It basically allows users to email a document directly to the printer for printing making remote tasks easier.
Performance is a very important factor when it comes to cost effectiveness and there are lots of good HP models that excel in printing speeds. Unfortunately, the CM1415FN won't win any speed records but some people may find the 5 pages per minute to be sufficient for printing mixed text and graphics.
The speed can rise to 12 pages per minute if only monochrome printing is used. On the upside, the quality is good when using monochrome or colour despite the low 600 dpi resolution. Aside from the average photo quality, the CM1415FN can do print operations in a beautiful fashion.
So regarding the cost effectiveness, the CM1415FN is a pretty decent all-in-one device - particularly when you take into account the various functions that it performs. The cartridges are rather easy to install and the touchscreen display can speed up print operations for critical tasks. Plus the CM1415FN functions as a decent flatbed scanner (1200 dpi) and fax. Overall, this HP newcomer is appropriately priced and recommended for those that like the idea of the ePrint function and touchscreen.
