Inkjet Or Laserjet Printer?
I am asked all of the time which printer I recommend. From a cost basis, here is what I recommend. Find a printer in each class that you like ; once you do, find out which ink or laser cartridge it uses. If you research the cartridges, you should be capable of finding the page yield, average amount of page you can print with that cartridge, and value of every one. After you have these 2 amounts, you can work out the price tag per page.
Laser : If you have a look at the HP laser 12a toner cartridge, you should be capable of finding that it has got a page yield rating of 2k pages per cartridge. You may also find this cartridge online at a cost of roughly $71 per cartridge. If I'm taking the 2k pages divided by the pricetag I find my average page cost to be about 3.5 cents per page if I buy the laser printer.
InkJet : If you buy an inkjet printer that uses the HP twenty cartridge you may find that it's got a page yield of 500 pages per cartridge and can be discovered for roughly $32 per cartridge. Since the page count on this cartridge is five hundred and the medium price is $32, my cost per page would be about six cents per page. This only assumes that the color black is used. If I need to use some of the coloured ink it would cost even more.
If you are expecting to print 2000 pages a year, it would cost $71 in toner or $128 in ink cartridges. If you print often black and white documentation then it is definitely a better concept to purchase a laser printer. My personal experience has also been that laser printers last for much longer than inkjet printers but your experiences may be different. If you don't really need to print color I would advocate employing a laser printer. If you need to print some color pages now and then, you could be able to just run them off at the library or some other place.
