The Practical, Economical Toyota Matrix
If you are in the market for a gas-sipping mode of transport that features great style plus plenty of cargo room, the 2010 Toyota Matrix hatchback may be the car for you. This car has almost as much cargo room as an SUV, with 48.9 cubic feet of available space with the rear seat folded. The safety system includes vehicle stability control, active traction control, a multi-terrain 4-wheel anti-lock brake system (ABS) as well as an electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist feature. Driver and passengers are protected with driver and front passenger front / side airbags along with front and rear side curtain airbags. The car is built with front and rear energy-absorbing crumple zones, an energy-absorbing steering column and side-impact door beams plus high-tensile-strength steel body panels, among other safety features. In crash testing, the Matrix was awarded a perfect five stars for frontal as well as front-seat side impacts, and it earned four stars for rear-seat side impacts.
The Matrix has a modern look with angular body lines, having been re-designed in 2009 and offers 3 trim levels. Multi-reflector halogen headlamps with daytime running lights and integrated front fog lamps are standard on all models. All in all, Matrix owners will enjoy a smooth, comfortable ride with steering that is quick to respond. Excellent safety features and superb cargo capacity round out this terrific vehicle package.
