HP LaserJet M1319f Printer Summary

In spite of their unsexy name, mono printers remain the ideal choice for a lot of individuals, small offices as well as home businesses. The streamlined HP LaserJet M1319f multifunction device is perfect for producing text documents rapidly and will inexpensively perform numerous tasks required for a small business: copying, faxing, duplex printing, and also scanning.

The M1319f is about as broad and deep as a standard ink-jet multifunction device, but is approximately twice as tall in height. At 10kg, this is one of the least heavy laser printers we've tested.

The M1319f's exterior is a regular plain grey tone, and its user interface is riddled with very simple buttons plus a little LED display. Whilst it is possible to alter selected settings for the fax and copier, the majority of functional alterations will have to be conducted by way of your pc - the menus on the user interface are not really user-friendly, so you'll want to do the majority of your adjustments on your computer screen in any case.

The M1319f is designed to deliver business documents fast and with excellent quality. Fortunately, this is what it really does.

In our time trials, the M1319f generated quite a few strong scores. The M1319f executed our 1-page Word test in 7 seconds. The 10- page Word document test completed in a bit over 40 seconds, putting it amongst the fastest times we've observed for a personal laser printer.

In addition to indeed being speedy, the M1319f made numerous strong image quality results in our testing. The text was of top-notch quality and thus well suited for a business environment needing professional-looking documents.

Nonetheless, the M1319f isn't as well fitted to graphic printing. We were not really impressed with the four-page PDF document made by the M1319f. In the fine lines and gradient test, the unit was merely awarded a good rating, with a reduction in detail inside a number of parts as well as an incapability to print clean grey gradients.

Although the M1319f cannot print colour documents, it is able to scan them. The lack of a flatbed scanner - documents that need be scanned are as an alternative drawn via an automatic document feeder - really injured the M1319f in the scanning testing, which are primarily graphics examinations. We scanned our conventional colour test photo using the automatic document feeder and then printed the file on a colour printer.

Colour looked greenish and only managed to earn an average rating. We also rated average for quality. Frustratingly, white streaks appeared whenever we scanned certain colour documents; this led us to think that the M1319f's automatic document feeder, whilst useful with regard to printing along with faxing, was a poor device for graphic copying and scanning.

Changing the HP LaserJet M1319f toner cartridge is a great deal cheaper compared with competing lasers as you simply need to swap one cartridge as opposed to a number of colour cartridges. HP states that you will get fully 2,000 pages of printing with a single cartridge.

Should you not need to have a printer for colour picture printing, colour copying, or making brochures which have elaborate graphics, then why bother spending money on a multifunction device with these capabilities?
