The most economical perhaps, is of course, saddle-stitch binding which staples the catalogs together along with spine. But if you’re more concerned about how these binding techniques would look on your catalogs, you better get yourself familiarized with what your printers offer.
The other two binding commonly are perfect binding and Wire-O. Perfect binding is similar to a book wherein the pages are glued together. Wire-O binding involves a double hoop wire, weaved individually into each hole. This can commonly be found in heavy set notebooks.
