Toner Cartridges: Making Your Money Go Further
When you are deciding what type of printer to choose for your home or office, the first things you have to think about is how often it will be used and what type of jobs it will be used for. Choosing the printer best suited to the unique needs of your office or personal use is sure to save you money in the long run even if it sometimes means a little more outlay initially.
When buying a new printer you need to determine whether you will be using it primarily for text or whether you will need it to print high resolution and good quality photo images too. If you're hoping for a printer that will be able to produce extremely precise images onto a variety of surfaces - for example CDs or canvas - an inkjet printer might be the right choice for you.
If you're not planning to print many images but you are expecting a high volume of pages of text throughout the life of your printer, then a laser printer might be just what you're looking for. Inkjet printers themselves are typically cheaper than laser printers meaning they may be a tempting option. However, they are not designed for the same kind of everyday use that you can enjoy with a laser printer.
Laser printers are also typically much faster than inkjet printers although the speed does vary from model to model. It's generally safe to assume that the more expensive a laser printer the faster its page speed will be. Laser printers are also capable of producing crisp quality print, especially for black and white text or graphics.
If you need a printer for a small business, home office or personal use that is able to handle more than one function, such as copying as well as printing, an all-in-one printer could be the answer - these can be found in both inkjet and laser varieties and are useful if you are looking for an all round machine to save space or initial overheads.
While inkjet printers use ink to create the print out, laser printers make sure of lasers and use toner cartridges to transfer text and images onto the page. Toner cartridges are typically a little more expensive than ink cartridges but they last much longer as you use less toner per page as you would ink.
It's easy to save money in the long run by choosing the right printer at the outset.
