Keys to choose High Performance Flatbed printer
Choosing a proper brand of flatbed printer is vital for our future production and operation wit the machine. In order to give our clients more professional information for the selection, Brother Jet would like to share our professional ideas with all of the clients interested in the machines:
1.What is flatbed printer?
Flatbed printer is also called Multifunctional Printer or Omnipotent Printer which is based on Epson series printer including Epson 1290, Epson 1390, Epson R350, Epson 230, Epson 1800, Epson 1900, Epson 4800, Epson 4880, etc. So the working method is the same for all the brands of printers.
2.The resolution
We need to focus on the resolution of the printers which is ranged from 360 DPI to 2880 DPI. Actually nowadays, all of the flatbed printers can reach high and fine printing with nozzles of 540 or higher. The way to measure the resolution is as following:
A: To print with the highest resolution of the machine. And print the smallest letters on the materials to see whether the printed letters are correct and clear.
B: Do not move the printed materials after one time of printing and then print one more time to see whether two times printing can match or not. This is to measure the structure’s resolution in terms of the gears and slide ways.

3.The features for Continuous working.
Continuous working machines can create more work and profit for the users. And it is really important to have the machine working at least 8 hours/day. As a result, we have to check the materials that the manufacturers use including the gears, sliding system, and flatbed materials.
And for this point, all the factories now in China are using local made ones which already match the high requirements of the strong working.
4. The inks.
If all the hard parts are ok, now comes to the point of the printers’ blood-INK. Many of the factories are using the inks local made in China which are still far away from high end in order to save cost. But many clients are wasting money by changing heads often. Since bad ink will need us to change the ink very often by making head blogging and drying in the ink CISS system. There are some types of the inks as following:
A: Inks need coating. (This is the type made in China mainly and used also here by the factories). We need to apply the coating or lacquer before printing by spray or brushing on the materials before printing. The bad points for this ink are: The coating has strong smell and it is harmful to the environment and human; the coating will damage the surface of certain materials including the crystal and glass.
B: Direct ink. (Mainly made in Korea and Taiwan, China). This type of ink is stronger in terms of stability performance. There is no need to use the coating before printing.
C: Textile ink or it is called Water based ink which is mainly used for textile printing. We do not recommend the clients to use this method for t-shirt printing, as the process is too complicated and also the result is not that strong.

5.The back-up Service.
Now many people are buying printer only for its lower cost mainly. This is not the right point. If the printer’s price is low, then the service must be also low. As flatbed printer is not big goods or deal, it is hard for the suppliers in China to provide the door-to-door service on site. In this case, the online support or remote support becomes more important. Due to the time-jag, many suppliers cannot provide service at the most urgent moment. 24*365 hours service should be always available.
