A Review of The Small Computer Desk
A small computer desk can help people who live in a space home, or apartment, but still want room for their computer. There are ideal for a students' bedroom, with many models and colors that will fit in with almost any decor. Though smaller than most, they often make up for it with extra storage and more organization than larger models.
For example, the TechniMobili Streamline Compact Computer Desk is a small computer desk with a compact four-tier design. The bottom shelf is large enough to fit many computer sizes, the next tier with pullouts for the keyboard, scanner, and a pull out drawer.
Then you have a desktop and another smaller raised shelf for your printer or other accessories. It is available in a wood grain finish, has a powder coated, scratch resistant metal frame, and comes ready to assemble. This unit is available at many popular local office supply stores, or can be ordered online, at a manufacturer's retail price of just under $140.
When it comes buying a small computer desk there are many other choices as well, including some models that that can open up for more work area. For example, the Retractable Compact Computer Desk, also by TechniMobili, has all the features of their other model, but also has a rotating work area that slides out from the body of the unit, to form an L design. It comes with lockable wheels for more stability. It too has powder coated steel construction, is ready to assemble, and is priced even lower at just under $100.
So when it comes to picking a small computer desk, there are many choices. There are computer carts that can be moved to other locations, ones that are made from real hardwoods, and many optional accessories. You can choose simple models that are ideal for basic computer set-ups, to fancy models with some much storage you would think it was a larger model. There are units with built in lights, as well as power plugs mounted right on the desk.
Because there are so many small computer desk models to choose from, purchasing one really depends on your budget. Many models like the ones mentioned are quite reasonable, but if you are interested in desks made from real wood, or with many added features, you will pay much more.
Since prices vary so greatly, it would be a good idea to check with your local office supply outlets first. One reason is that these outlets have many different models and brand available in one location, so you can compare products and features. If you have any questions about a particular model or manufacture, you can ask them right away.
In many cases, a local retailer will also have a website, and you can have products shipped free, and pick them up from the store. It also makes it much easier to return items that are defective; you don't have to pay to ship it back.
