Canon P-150 Portable High Speed Document Scanner Wins Outstanding Achievement Award
We've written about the new Canon imageFORMULA P-150 portable Mac document scanner twice in as many months now. First, as it was recently made Mac-comptible by Canon, with the manufacturers having seen the huge potential for the device with Soho (small office, home office) type, on-the-cloud users. Then, we reported on the announcement that the P150 document scanner had been awarded with a prestigious iF Design Award, for its sleek looks and innovative design. Now, Buyers Laboratory Inc (BLI), world-famous product testers and evaluators have announced the imageFORMULA P-150 document scanner has been awarded an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award' in the ‘Mobile Scanner' Category in this year's ‘Pick of the Year'. BLI were impressed by the device's fast scanning speeds when connected via USB cable as well as its Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) holding up to 20 sheets, making this a neat high speed portable document scanner.
The imageFORMULA P-150 – ‘Versatile, Portable and Stylish'
Since being released in November last year, the imageFORMULA P150 has been widely praised across the imaging industry and has proved extremely popular with organisations where limited desk space can mean larger flatbed/desktop document scanners are just impractical. With the P-150's sleek black appearance and its innovative award-winning design features, it's also proved popular with those looking for something a little easier on the eye than is typical of much office equipment. Crucially, while the P-150 document scanner is feature rich, the needs of mobile users have not been ignored. It's is the smallest footprint but considering the features offered, the P-150 remains pleasingly petite.
The imageFORMULA P-150 – ‘Makes a Big Impact' with BLI
BLI were particularly impressed with the P150's automatic document feed (ADF), the first time Canon have introduced this feature on a portable document scanner. So much so in fact, within their press release about the P-150's ‘Outstanding Achievement Award', BLI speculated as to whether this feature "could change the way people think about portable scanning."
As noted, the high speed Canon imageFORMULA P-150 is the fastest portable scanner that the BLI have tested when connected to a PC via USB. It was also the only portable scanner the BLI ever to have been tested that did not significantly slow down when connected via USB. Other features which BLI editors and technicians noted, was the scanner's ability to store up to 10 user profiles as well as the CaptureOnTouch software which allows users to connect to any laptop without the need to install additional drivers or software packages. Joel Ellerman, BLI Test Technician, commented,
[it's] very easy to use and offers a smaller than average footprint than those of other ADF-equipped portable scanners tested.
